looking to replace old fuel tank in 1977-e350 holiday rambler-aft axle. running into road blocks. looked at class c models at rv show, they had perfect tank that would fit on new models, what is their source. auto parts stores have smaller tanks that i could not live with and am currently seeking local to have tank made. will have to solve issue of sending unit on that front. i am restoring 1981 goldwing motorcyle and there is a wealth of info and web sites that have been beneficial to me. not having same luck on rv. any help would be greatly appreciated. looking forward to exploring new site.

I drive over to Lake Havasu city AZ and have my fuel tanks custom built.
The tanks are 100% aluminum and shaved off about 80 pounds of dead weight hanging behind my rear axel.

update to fuel tank repair-machine shop by where i work suggested local radiator shop that handles fuel tanks-they acid washed inside of tank and put bladder(plastic liner) inside. i think my tank was 49 gal. and they refurbed it for $ 280. working now to rebuild sending unit and it will be ready to go back in rv.

I have to agree, I much prefer the "old" site. Easier to navigate and many more interesting pictures etc.

Sorry guys. We're pretty committed to the new site. I know its different but give me a chance to answer your questions and I promise you'll like it in time.

The forum is still there. Just click on the forum tab in ThisOldRV. The biggest difference is that each type of owner can have their own group now. We did this because we were out growing the old format.

Also, if you have suggestions, ideas, etc post them. I'll do my best to make it easy and explain how to do thing. It's just going to take an adjustment for a while.
