    need some help.  got tired of IE7vista doing it's thing and downloaded firefox.  went through program defaults and set firefox as default.

    ie7 keeps coming back online along with firefox!

    am i missing something here?

    You need to tell Firefox that you want it as your default browser.
    Tools/options/main/at the bottom of the window check the box beside "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser...click on the "Check Now" box. That should do it.
    Good Luck it is a great browser.

    I just reread the question and my answer is not what you expect. Let me look a little harder.

    Open IE7 and click on Tools/Internet Options/Programs

    It should say the IE7 is not your default browser. If it does not, then reset IE67 as your default, reboot, then open Firefox and set it as default, reboot. This should do it.

    Another alternative to try, go to Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs. On the left click on  "Set Program Access and Defaults", click on "Custom" and highlight "Mozella Firefox" as your browser.
