I ordered a set of the Hedman Hedders today. Something else to add to the "as soon as it warms up" list.
I am a fair weather mechanic so my pile of upgrades and add-ons has been growing and stacking up in the garage over the past couple months.
Steven - I do have enough room left for a couple new seats like those awesome flex-steels you just installed!
I'm excited about the return of warm weather and more daylight so I can stop stacking and start installing.

I want to here results of headers.
Those Banks sets are hi $$$, and have a tough time turning loose of the cash. |

| You can add Hedmanns and replace your entire exhaust for what the Banks headers alone costs. I did mine a few years ago...same setup as SilverBuffalo |

Found another set made by a family shop out in Washington State...

He makes them in S/S if you want, but does not push them.
$992 + 35 shipping to Alabama
$550 for regular steel
His are Tri-Y, said better at 5500rpm and under than equil pipes.
3/8" flange and 'ball socket' collector.

I think they were under $250 from Jegs. I replace the headers, installed free flow mufflers, an H pipe, a bunch of 8' sticks and all the hangers, clamps and hardware for aroun $600. I did the installation.
Headers were a realy adventure...but the rest of the exhaust was done on a Saturday afternoon. |

| The exhaust manifolds are off!! Got them removed yesterday, this evening I was able to get the head surfaces cleaned up and make a trip to Sears for an eazy-out. I wondered why there was no bolt in the very rear of the stock manifold. Steven - I know how you love this stuff..... planning to do the install this Saturday. |

I don't think I would want to wind a big block chevy up to 5500 rpm. the tri y's are good flowing headers . they help pull exhaust gasses out better. they have them in Jegs and Summit for a lot less than$550. I just put a new exhaust system on mine. from the stock headers back I put 2 1/2 in duel pipes with turbo mufflers on a 24 argosy for $ 325. also put on a Edlebrock 750 cfm carb on , has a lot more power. gas milage is up to 9.9 mpg. @ 65
