Okay, in my older years I get a little emotional I guess.  I spent my time in the military and even got shot at a few times.  I Salute the flag as it passes and have one at the end of my driveway too.  Little things seem to mean a lot more than they did when I was a youngster.

I hear "America the Beautiful" and get a lump in my throat.  It is a beautiful country from "sea to shining sea"!  Now here is something else that gets a lump in my throat.  These young women are from Texas and I just heard their song for the first time this week.  I love it!

Give it a listen.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85mcbKzK0N0&feature=related

i am in my early 50's, was a music performer for many, many years.

both of our sons and our son-in-law are in the military. when all of this "911" began, our oldest was in the first group in. our SIL was "next door" in afganistan...our youngest was on his way to quait.

we both ride motorcycles and escort the traveling viet nam memorial wall to our local area. each year the number of riders grows with estimated 15,000 this year. the police escort us and people actually get out of their cars, salute, honk, yell, whatever they can to show their honor and respect.

all of this said, nothing is quite as moving seeing these 5 young ladies doing a FABULOUS job with a very hard song to sing!!!

just typing this has given me goose bumps and a tear in my eye.
