We have a 1972 Winnebago Brave. The refrigerator is original and works great on electric, problem is with gas. Has good flame in burner , thinking it could be thermostat. Any suggestions for parts. It is a GE model TG-5. We have worked on the old girl all summer and this is our last issue (for now!),  We could really use some input, links, suggestions.

On something that old you may have to find used parts, nt sure what is available new. Here is a link to a list of RV salvage yards http://www.rverscorner.com/info/rvsalvage.html.

You might check your flue to be sure there is no obstruction and make sure the baffle is clean before you start replacing parts. Never worked on a GE but with a Norcold or Dometic, generally if it works well on electric and you have a good flame there is a heat transfer problem on LP. You should be able to pull the reefer vent cover and look down your flue, the baffle should pull up and out through the vent.

Go to the "forums" page and on the line just above the forums list is the word search. Click it and enter refrigerator. You will get a lot of links on the subject.
