My wife and I will be visiting the US in September 2008 and wish to travel in small RV for approximately 4 weeks. At our home in Australia we own a 1985 F100 with a slide-on camper that we use as often as possible. We are familiar with, and comfortable in older style units.

We have lived in Canada (20 years ago) and have had several trips back to North America since, although not in an RV, we are accustomed to the driving conditions of the US.  We fly into LA and intend to tour Arizona and California, focusing on Frank Lloyd Wright and similar architecture. In all we expect to do about a 3,000 mile trip. We are non-smokers and can provide personal references, from the US. We are interested in hearing from anyone with offers, recommendations or suggestions as to where we may access an older RV for the duration of our trip. If necessary we can travel from LA to pick-up.

I am a retired University Researcher, building a FLW inspired house in Tecoma, an outer eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. My wife is still a full-time University Researcher. I have a background in Law Enforcement and I am a qualified Vehicle Mechanic. I will ensure any arrangement is legal, ethical and beneficial to both parties.

Even if you are not able to connect us with an old RV, and you have an interest in our trip, or energy efficient building, it would you be great to hear from you.

If we have to rent a vehicle commercially I would appreciate assistance and advice on the vehicle pick-up process, as I have not had the need to hire a vehicle in the past.

Sounds like you are going to have a great trip.  Unfortunately I live on the east coast of Canada so cannot be of too much help. Good luck !
