My experience comes from many years in the aviation maintenance field....we wouldn't dream of making a repair to a aluminum skin without spraying primer first....but I guess that's not the RV industry way.  It doesn't look like they used a primer and maybe it's not really necessary.

I have a brother in Autobody, 30 years, I'll talk to him. I want to paint the Peanut too. Maybe next year after I get other things done.

I found this info in the other Forum.

"Best aluminum primer INTERLUX #353 Vinyl-Lux Primewash base self etching primer. It is available through boat dealer who carry Interlux line of paints."

Not sure about it, but I'll be checking into it.

I used SEM Self Ettching Primer on the spot I had to do.

I'm sure that there are many dif type valves I can use....I just haven't started looking for one yet.  Going to a horse show (auction) today so won't get much done on the RV....Wife says I need a break from it anyway.  I discovered another thing wrong with my ice maker....  there is a heating element under the ice cube tray ( actually the tray is called a "mold").  The purpose of this heater is to loosen the ice cubes before they are scaped into the ice bin.  My problem....this heater is staying on way too long....and of course....the water never freezes into cubes.  There must be a relay... or maybe a cam... that is not being activated.  Anyone know anything about this process?

Hey Charles.
Don't know much about the ice makers. When I told my wife that others have them and while I'm working on the cabinet area, would she think about one!?

She was happy with the little ice made in the trays, and buying ice for the chest, which we don't take much of one anyway. If it don't fit in the fridge, you know the rest.

She wants the cabinet space more than the ice. Plus the ice maker will only work while your hooked up or the generator running.

Just something to talk about!

Was just up your way and stayed at the KOA in Paris on Labor Day. Did some riding around on the old HD on our 34th. If we get up that way again this year (loved the area) might hook up.

Good luck with the ice maker, or what ever you do.

I reinstalled the ice maker refrigerator unit back into it's hole but the ice maker itself still not working right.  Something is keeping the heater unit intergized.  This heater is suppose to heat the ice cubes slightly in order to unstick them before dumping them into the ice bin.  For some reason this heater is staying on almost constantly.  Pretty sure it's a bad thermostat....  I'm wondering if it wouldn't be wise to just replace the ice maker rather than take a chance on a thermostat....and that's assuming I could even get a new thermostat.

Can anyone give me some tips on removing my gas stove and oven unit  (Argosy 28 foot).  I hooked water hose up to water system and it leak like a river from around the water heater area.  As best as I can see back around the heater....there is one water line disconnected completely.  I'm thinking....I need to get a real clear view of all water lines so I want to remove the gas stove....  Is there anything I need to be aware of in removing the stove.  I will more than likely remove the water heater at the same time and have it pressure check and repaired if needed.

Thanks for your help
Charles
