It would be nice if the icon next to the topic (which changes to indicate a new post) would act like a link to that new post like it does in the main page. On the main page: The icon of a folder shows a starlike emblem when there are posts that the user has not read in that forum. When there are no new posts, it is an open folder. When the folder is clicked, it acts like a link to the forum itself. Inside the forum itself:the icon next to any topic that has new posts similarly shows a star, but nothing happens when the icon is clicked on. It would be nice if the post that turns on the star emblem would also be linked to by the icon. This way it would be easier to return to a conversation already in progress, allowing easier contribution to that conversation. I know it can be done, and easily. I'm a member of several forums that do this, and it seems to be the standard behaviour. Perhaps it is supposed to do this already, and the code is broken? I dunno, I just thought you should know about it.

gnuman, Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, the folders are setup to visually show you which forums have unread posts, new posts and read posts. The icons used on the individual posts without a forum however are chosen by the poster (we allow posters to choose and icon when they post). I can link these to the posts but most of the time the title seems fine. Also, on the star icon (folder with unread posts)....there may be more than one unread posts in a topic. You can set your personal preference to show "Newest Posts" in a forum by clicking on "My Profile" then "Edit Profile" and changing the sort order of posts to "Newest First". Not sure if this will accomplish exactly what you are looking for but it might help. (The profile page and others have a problem with contrast so you might not see everthing on your monitor. We're working on a new look for the site which will resolve this issue shortly). Lastly, for suggestions and recommendations for the site, in addition to the forum we have a feedback center setup here: http://www.thisoldrv.com/Members/FeedbackCenter/tabid/844/fbType/View/FeedbackID/8/Default.aspx. This allows any member to make a suggestion for a new feature or a change to an existing feature. Other members can vote on it and you can track progress as ideas are implemented.
