In following these forums I can't help but notice the absence of Airstream Legacys.  We recently purchased one as our entry into the Motor Home thing, and I soon learned that there is a wealth of assistance and knowledge on this and the Airstream forum, but nobody else seems to drive a Legacy.  Were there just not many made, did they not last, or is it just that nobody has problems with them (doubtful).

I recently posted a discussion asking if we would likely be snubbed as the Beverly Hillbillys in our old 93 Legacy and then began learning of the campground that don't allow older units.  In that posting it became apparent that it is difficult to judge the age of the silver Airstreams.  I don't think that is going to be the case with the Legacy.  Particularly considering that it apparently has never been garaged and the shiney fiberglas has long been dulled by UV Rays.  I have considered getting it painted bu t everywhere I turn it appears that paint jobs run in $12K range, which doesn't seem to be a logical  thing for an older unit.

Any thoughts?

Painting our fiberglass Travco hopefully this spring. Plan on doing it myself as there is no way I can justify what a body shop wan't to do the job.

As far as age restrictions, I've found that is generally at an RV Resort, not typically any type of place I would go anyway. I have never been turned back yet. I prefer to spend my money with businesses that wan't my business and don't starte down their nose at me.

Welcome to the site. Age is in the eye....well you know the rest. I too have not been turned away and my 86 "silver" Airstream looks like an 86. We do tend to focus on state parks however.

Another member here, robfike, is having his Airstream 345 painted in Indiana where they paint new factory coaches. Maybe you can connect with him on what he paid. 12K sounds high to me.
