Boy do I feel dumb!  I can't figure out how to get the old blade off of my 1993 Airstream Legacy motorhome.   There are two little blade looking things - one on each side of blade and they do pull up about 1/8th of an inch but that doesn't seem to release anything.

Any ideas?  I have searched the internet and have not found the type of release mechanism that I have.

Any chance you could post a photo? Mine are held on with a small cap bolt and nut.

Steven; the weather took a turn for the worse yesterday and I took the unit back to storage so i can't get a photo. Weather permitting we are headed out to become winter Texans next Friday. I noticed in the latest sale catalog that Campingworld has free installation for blades bought so i think we will stop by one of their stores on our way south.

I lost my drivers side Wiper last fall, looks like I will need to remove the motor when the weather gets better and I find a replacement. I'll post pics!

on our 86 PA we cannot replace just the blade. we have to replace the "head" that the blade slides into as well.

they are held on as Airstream 345 said. be careful!!!!!!!!!!! my old fat fingers and the little nuts had issues!!!

Sorry fro the delay - I had them replaced by CampingWorld. It was easy, I just didn't understand. I was expecting thme to work like the ones on the cars where you flip a clip - rotate and remove. This was even easier - remove one nut and associated screw and it falls off in your hand.

Thanks everyone.

Does anyone have a photo of the Driver side Wiper arm mounting?
I thought the motor had died, only to find the arm from the wiper motor to the armature that runs the blade had fallen off. Looks like everything is fine, just missing the mounting hardware???
My Chiltons does not give a good enough break down.

check out this company
www.amequipment.com

they're an oem windscreen wiper replacement outfit

if you take a good look around they have some neat diagrams and a bunch of cad files that can be viewed through your browser.

i had to replace a 230 series linkage on the drivers side of my 345, never knew my arms could bend like that, very awkward job, however driving in heavy rain at night is much more awkward

Good info thanks!

Here is a pic of what I have. Looks like the plastic bushing on the wiper end failed. Took out the fastener with it.
I have a plan, being a machinist, I can fabricate a new bushing, from brass this time and make the repair. I have had no luck locating the replacement bushing.

Balgrn:

That being a GM chassis, I was wondering if a "good" GM parts person (and boy aren't they hard to find anymore) could come up with one, otherwise I was wondering about an old and well established junk yard parts man?  Just a couple of thoughts.  Was wondering if it wasn't a stock GM truck part?  Good luck!

Tip.
