I have a little dent on the roof, looks like the PO backed into something. It hit just where the bath fan is. Not looking forward to puling the dent from steel, I find Aluminum more forgiving.

That's not a little dent. Does it show on the inside? If not, why not bondo it and paint it over?

It does, and the fan no longer functions due to the hit, I think. I an thinking a couple well placed holes and a slide hammer. If I can get my brother to help, he is consumed by racing late models in the summer I'll be better off, he is a body specialist.

That should work. Then bondo and paint.

Actually, I took my liner out once. If you did that you could roll it out from the inside. The liner just rivets in.

I'll look into that, it is pretty tight back there, they did an awesome job with utilizing space in there but it is tough to get at things...

Yes, those liners do take some finagaling to get them out. If you take your time though, it can be done.

As long as I had it out I stuffed some insulation in when I put it back.

I have a couple dents in my 78 Argosy also.  I tried the slide hammer and must say that steel doesn't give real easy. I've heard two different sides to the story of how it is best to pull the dents out.  Some say it's best to start with the deep part of the dent and work your way out to the edge of the dent.  Then there are others who say start at the edge and work to the center of the dent.  I'm not sure....anyone know which is right.  I plan to pull the dents out as much as possible then fill in with bondo.  I'm waiting on warmer weather.

I am kinda fortunate, I have a brother that works for a body shop. has for 30 years. I'll be "borrowing" him and some tools when warmer weather gets here. I'll be posting pics. He was telling me of an air driven 'sucker' It does most of the work for ya.

I am leaning towards removing the liner too. Who knows, we have plenty of time to think about it eh?

I would like to take the liner down also...but my MH set out in AZ and baked in the 120 degree heat for several years....anything in the MH made of plastic like material is as brittle as glass.  I'm afraid that if I mess with the liner I will cause a big crack.  Removing the liner would more than likely be the best way to go however
