I'm tryin to remove the front head liner to repair a crack and get to the wiring for the horns. Has anyone ever attempt this feat!  I have everything off and I think all the rivets out, but  can not get it out to drop the front and slide it out from under the ceiling cover and cabinets.

 

Any help would be great

This sounds like a big ...scarey...job.  Hope your MH is not like mine.....you just look at it and it cracks.  My MH was setting in AZ heat for several years which probably has a lot to do with it.  How were you planning to repair the cracks?  I simply used a caulking compound and then severval coats of real good paint.  It didn't turn out too bad....time will tell how well it holds up.  Sorry I can't help you with actually taking headliner down.

I have it down Charles.

 

It is rough to get the back side lose from the stringer. All the vulcum they use makes it tough to get loose.

 

I had to pry out the front aout of the channel to get it down. If it is brittle, could make it worse.

 

I just wonder if it won't be such a bad idea ...rather than taking the liner down to get at the wires...if you could just cut a hole in the liner....with a dremel tool....then put a patch on it.  I know that would look kinda hooky but like in my case....I'd cause more problems than I would fix.    Just a thought
