Lately I've been having a strange issue starting the motorhome.  Most of the time it starts right up.  But every once in a while I need to remove the distributor cap and attached a test light from a ground to the 12V lead on the coil.  Then, cranking again it starts up, stumbles then cleans up.

Bad ground?  Should I bee looking at the ground strap on the engine?  Ideas?

Steve, I had a lot of electrical problems with the entire coach. From the furnaces to the starter. I cleaned off that ground strap and all of it went away. I would certainly start there.

I have the 345 in the driveway for some interior work over the next two weeks. I'll crawl under there and check the ground strap. I chased a lot of wiring issues between the batteries and the charging system early on. I just couldn't figure this one out.

Did you get anywhere with this problem?

Not yet...it's been WAY too cold (14 degrees) to let my sensitive hands touch old metal. 3435 is just tucked in there anjoying the time at home...(doubt my neighbors feel the same way :)

btw - saw your photo of the Peanut Garage - SWEET! I dream about a garage for my 345...I could get so much more done.
