I've just upgraded the chatroom software for the site.  This upgrade not only provides a new look, but some new features a lot of members have requested along with improved performance.

The biggest thing you'll notice is the new look and feel for the site.  It allows you more control and what I think is an easier to use console. 

Some of new features include:

Multiple Chat Rooms.  We can now setup more than one chat room (Chassis Talk, Camping Chat. etc).  This will become more important as our chats and membership continues to grow

Private Chats.  You can now start private chats with users in the chat room.  Simply by clicking on a user's name you'll see a drop down menu which includes "Private Chat".  Clicking this will start another chat session with just that specific user.  This is great for comments that might not be meant for the entire chat room, but you want to send to someone you know.  For example I might want to say "Cooperhawk, I'll email you that manual later today" and send it just to Coop. 

Pop Out Chat Window.  You can click an icon to open the chat in another pop up window, allowing you to continue to browse the site, check the forums, etc. without loggin out of chat.

Better performance. We should no longer have any issues with the chat room crashing when we get more than 15 people in a room.  This happened a few times last season and this upgrade should resolve these issues. 

I'll post some "how to's" on using the new chat room in the coming days.  Stay tuned.
