In addition to camping, and "therapy" we've started using our motorhome as a support vehicle for my wife's marathoning and my mountain biking.

Last Fall we took it up to Columbus for the marathon.  It was great for the runners in our group to come home on the comfort of our sofa, take a shower, etc.

We've also been using it for short overnight mountain bike trips.  This Spring we're planning a four day trail trip in and around Ashville, NC.

How do others use theirs?

WE owned a storage facility a couple years back, and it was ninty miles from our home. We would take our 345 and spend week ends cleaning and painting the buildings. We could park inside one of the large buildings and had a concrete floor and all. It worked out nicely.

My wife is an attorney and we often load up her lap top and printer along with files and supplies and go to a client's home it they are too old or sick to to come to her. Client's love it!

We came by ours quite by chance, Someone had long wanted a MH restoration project until they got it. I like to tinker, so I let them know if they found they did not want to keep it, I wanted fist dibs. Anyway, Like I said, I enjoy tinkering with older vehicles. Keeps me busy. We use it for weekend trips and camping in the winter. The compact size makes it easy to heat.

balgrn,
I have to say, those 20's are pretty cool. I hope I'll be up your way this summer in the 345. We haven't gone up to Rye NH in a couple of years. I would love to stop over and see "the AS lot" you've been building.
That's one of the other main reasons we bought our rig...yearly treks to the New Hampshire coastline acting as a summer cottage.  It's perfect for all five of us to sleep instead of some flea bag rental.
Your most welcome to stop by! Would love to see your rig and get a few pics of them together! Always room for one more :)

We have found, oddly enough, that when we take the Peanut, we end up havin happy hour inside. So I guess it's a good way to meet folks.

Looks like Peanut is having a good time. We purchased our 82 310 (Sammie) from Texas in late November after selling our 2002 Airstream Safari. What a beauty. With only 39,000 miles on her, she has a long life ahead. We are the 3rd owner. The previous owner took really good care of her.  He only had her for about 3 years but mainly focused on the engine and chasssis. Flying down from MA and driving home from Tx was the most memorable trip we ever had. Not knowing what to expect with Sammie and the travel home, well lets just say everything went  smoothly.

So now we have her in our driveway all comfy and cozy under a cover. What's next you ask. Interior first because it's cold.  We will be reupholsturing the sofa, chairs, adding new drapes, (done by Tammy at Silver Threads on the AF),  and replacing the carpet. Also, new toilet, cleaning the sticky walls (Marine Clean will take that off), resealing all the seals on the outside and finally the window fuzzy track. All this to be ready by late April. Whew!!!

Not much needed for the engine and chassis other than a new stearing stablizer and that's it for now. We feel lucky.

We will definitely keep you updated.

Stay tuned.

The road goes on forever, and the party never ends (Robert Earl Keen).

This is awesome, all classic motorhomes, I love it!
We first spotted the 310 parked next to a house out in the country on one of our "let's take the back roads home" drives. We turned around and drove by three times. Jane or I had never seen an Airstream motorhome, we both thought it was too cool. A couple months later the "silver buffalo" was in our driveway and the pop-up camper was up for sale.
The PO was a self proclaimed handy man so the first things on the list were to un-handy some of his work. Out of fear - common sence - our first years trips were mostly weekend camping at near by parks. The more comfortable we become with with the buf's reliability the further out we venture on our camping trips. Hope to do more and more long distance trips as improvements continue with the 310.

Mark - I saw your s/n posted on the Forum site. I think our 310's came off the line very close to each other. I had my fingers crossed for you on your trip back from TX. Glad that worked out so well.
