Hello, I am new and searching to find out about an old Dodge van based motohome.  I believe they were made in the 80's. ??? They used a Dodge B-van front end, but the camper body "flared out" very smooth from right behind the Dodge's front doors.  They did NOT have an overhang, like many Class C's, and they possibly had a rear door. (I can't remember)  The whole unit was relatively low profile and sleek, not very long, probably around 24 feet.  Not boxy, like other Class C's.  I don't know if it would be a Class C or possibly B?

Any help or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,   Al

Winnebago made one similar to that, can't think of the name right now. Also a couple of other manufacturers, boy my memory. I'll have to think on it some. I believe they were classified as a "B".

I think the Winnebago was called the Rialta on a VW Vanagon. They made something else like it earlier that that. I've seen the Dodge you're talking about but I don't know it's name. I think it would be classified as a Class B or possibly C. Technically a C is a when a "box" was attached to a cutaway van chassis. Those line have been blurred in recent years with Bs and B+ coaches

I think it may be a "Chinook". I also believe I saw one with a Chevy Van front.

Yep, I believe one was a Chinook, There was another one that I think started with a T. Can't remember off hand. About 2 years ago, these were popping out of the woodwork around here and for sale pretty cheap. Most needed some work, but would have been a great fishing buggy. Don't see to many now.

HI! You may have seen a Dodge Trans Van....it matches your description and there are several still around the East Texas area. I would think that they are a cross between a Class B and a Class C.

You were correct. It was a "TransVan". They used both Dodge's and Chevy's front end. I just saw a 1978 with a Chevy 30 Van front end, Dual wheels and Rear door only.  This one was in very rough shape so I think I'll pass on it.
Thanks for you help.
