We just purchased a 1984 Cruise Air II. Needed alot of work, but most is done now and almost everything is working. I am wondering if The rear AC should work when plugged into 110 or if it only works if the generator is running? My generator has a fuel pump problem which I haven't got to yet, but if I wire the rear AC direct, it does work, it just won't come on when plugged into 110. I would like to be able to use the rear AC when plugged in.
Thanks, Nick

| On our Airstream 345 there is a switch above the sink that lets you select either rear or front AC when plugged into 110. On the Onan genset both AC's can be run at the same time. There is a way to rewire so that both AC's can be run on 50 amp service. |

I do have a switch above the sink, but it only selects front AC or microwave. That works fine, I would just like to be able to run the rear air instead of the front one if I so choose. Just wondering if I have a problem, or if these were never wired from the factory to allow the rear air to run except by the generator.

| That seems strange doesn't it. I wonder if it could be wired to switch to the rear? |

My Georgie Boy only has 1 roof air unit. But the manual says that if you have two, only one will work on a 30 amp feed or both will work on a 50 amp feed. They should work on both land power or generator. Now if the generator only gives 30 amps I suspect only one would work on genny power.

Well it could work very good IF the 2nd air was a Coleman "Polar cub"
Since both of my airs were 20+ years old a few phone calls indicated the 13.5 power saver would draw around 10 amps, The Polar cub draw indicated around 7 amps.
As it turned out, Both airs on MAX draw 16.7 amps so the convertor, Fridge and TVs run along perfectly......Just to save some power the fridge is run on propane....
Just another way for me to spend money on the "Money pit"
