The Family Motorcoach Association is holding their International Convention at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds in St Paul, Minnesota July 14-17, 2008. The State Fair Grounds should be a great site for the Rally as it is set in the Middle of the Twin Cities area and very nicely landscaped with large shade trees.
Although we live close by we plan on going. If any of you would like to join us here is a link to their site. I am sure they have plenty of activities planned, but local attractions are The Mall of America and many fine resuturants and other sites to see.

Timing is the critical factor. I will be coming back from the Yukon at that time and may be in the area but cannot plan that specifically to be in that exact area on those dates. I will keep it in my mind ( what's left of it )

Got our confirmation for the FMCA Rally a couple weeks ago. We are to check in on July 12, which is a Saturday and then the Convention begins on the 14th. Is anyone else going?
We have two friends coming down from Canada to attend and plan to go in the gate as three units together. Actually, they are Americans spending the summer on Lake of the Woods in Canada.
If anyone esle is planning to attend maybe we could get a group together for a cook out or something. |

Our rig is at the FMCA International Convention right now. We however are at home. It is only a half hour away and we have a very old dog that we hesitated to take there, so we return home each night to care for her, and sleep in our own bed. Not too shabby!!
The Convention is HUGE! Nearly 3000 motorhomes in all. Our little old Airstream looks pretty bleak sitting amongst all those Beavers, Monacos, and such. Let me tell you that this country still has VAST PROSPERITY! Next to us is a retired fireman and his wife in a huge Monaco. Then a retired United pilot in a Beaver. I do wonder how they can all afford it, but most are just retired working people. Not Millionaires. Everyone is friendly and it is fun.
I will take the camera today. Tonight we will see the "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band". and there is some more entertainment tomorrow night, then its all over. Gotta be out by noon on Friday. |

Got the final count last night. 2400 some motorhomes and get this, over 600, thats six hundred, new units for sale. Total is over three thousand. Saw the Nitty Gritty last night. Short show. Only lasted for an hour. It was hot in the coleseum.
Brought the Motorhome back home last night. Bad weather predicted today and it would be foolish to have it h ail damaged when it could just as well have been safe in our shed. Proof that I was right is that the sky is now dark as night here and it is almost ten o'clock in the morning.
Big wind acomin! |

We too were at St. Paul with our 1993 Airstream Legacy. We kind of felt like the Beverly Hill Billys next to the big expensive rigs, but we were not made to feel unwelcome. Quite the opposite.
