Greetings!  My first time here but have a question regarding a power step on a 86 Itasca that is not working.  I found out the motor had burned out but have since replaced that.  But the new one is overheating.  Does anyone have any thoughts on this.  Can it possibility be the realy that is associated with the motor/step?  I hear it clicking after the step opens or closes.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanx!!!

Dick

have you tried to lubricate all of the pivot points?

ours was doing the same thing when we bought it. after using "rust eater" several treatments and then white grease, it now works each and every time.

the process to get it moving took 2 days. we would spray, wait a few hours and spray again. other than the roof of a MH the lubrication of the steps is probably the next most neglected maintenance item.

good luck!

My steps click twice after they are fully opened or closed. I dont know how hot the motor gets but these old motors are just power window motors from early 70s autos and is probably alot to ask of them to be opening and closing stairs
